In addition, a Magistrate is always on-call (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays!) to consider warrants in emergency matters. Warrant and First Appearance Hearings are to be scheduled by the arresting officer so that a Warrant Hearing, an Initial Appearance Hearing and a Bond Hearing take place within 48 or 72 hours of an arrest, as is generally required by law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>First Appearance &amp; Bond Hearings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday &#8211; Friday at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; and<\/li>\n<li>Saturdays or Sundays: EMERGENCY HEARINGS ONLY<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Other Court Calendars to begin as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Civil Hearings:\u00a0Mondays &amp; Wednesdays, <\/strong>beginning at<strong> 10:00 a.m.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><strong>Deposit Account Fraud\u00a0Arraignments:\u00a0 2nd<\/strong> Wednesday each month beginning at 10:00 a.m.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>County Ordinance Arraignments:<\/strong> 2nd Wednesday each month beginning at 10:00 a.m.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Deposit Account Fraud &amp; County Ordinance Trials:\u00a0<\/strong>3rd Thursday each month beginning at 10:00 a.m.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pre-Warrant Hearings:<\/strong> 1st, 2nd &amp; 4th Thursdays beginning at 10:00 a.m.; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Preliminary Hearings:<\/strong> Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. (arrive by 1:00).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Temporary Protective Order Applications MUST be brought through PROMISE PLACE:<\/strong><br \/>\nPike: (770)567-3447 \u00a0 \u00a0 Griffin: (770)692-3333<br \/>\nCrisis Hotline: (770)460-1604 -or- (866)780-3718<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/115795473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Communicating with the Court. Under no conditions will a judge discuss the merits of a case with only one party, so please DO NOT ask to discuss your case with a\u00a0Judge.\u00a0 We want both parties to be confident in receiving a fair and unbiased day in Court.\u00a0NEITHER THE CLERK NOR THE JUDGE CAN OR WILL\u00a0GIVE\u00a0 LEGAL ADVICE TO A PARTY.\u00a0 Should you need legal advice, please see an attorney.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">NOTIFY THE CLERK OF COURT OF CHANGES IN CONTACT INFORMATION IMMEDIATELY!<\/span><\/strong> If you should move, it is your responsibility to inform the Court in writing of your new address. \u00a0The Court is not responsible for a party who does not receive their hearing notice because they did not inform the Court of a new address. \u00a0The Court may issue a default judgment against a Defendant who does not appear at the hearing in a civil case. \u00a0If the Plaintiff fails to provide the Court with their new address, and does not appear at the hearing, the Court may dismiss the civil case.
